It sounds like the whole band is getting back together for a sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is in talks with screenwriters Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner to return for a follow-up that would reunite Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan. Rosenberg and Pinkner are also writing for Sony on Venom, the Spider-Man spinoff that stars Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a massive hit when it was released on Dec. 20, becoming the highest grossing non-Spider-Man movie that Sony has had in a very long time. The film put up an impressive fight against Star Wars: The Last Jedi, taking the top spot at the box office several weeks on its way to more than $850 million worldwide on a $100 million budget.

In the successor to 1995’s Jumanji, a group of high school kids discover a video game that transports them into the world of Jumanji. They’re transformed into avatars played by Johnson, Hart, Black, and Gillan.

There were already talks of a sequel, but director Jake Kasdan and producer Matt Tolmach are expected back along with the Seven Bucks Production team of Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. There’s no start date just yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
